Charming.  Cosy.  Personal.    Whether it is the accents of the staff, the books and posters on the walls, the catchy tunes, or the simple style crepes, a visit to Roule Galette is a sentimental experience that leaves me daydreaming about France.

The menu is quintessentially French with uncomplicated ingredients enfolded into freshly made savoury galettes and sweet crepes.  Last week I ordered the cheese and egg galette.  They accidentally put ham in it but were very apologetic and made me a new one straight away.  The cheese and egg is an enjoyable combination – not as amazing as the last cheese crepe I ate with gruyere cheese, salt and pepper (ordered at a stall on the Champs Elysees) -  but still delicious.

There are several vegetarian galettes including spinach, cheese and mushroom with béchamel; goats cheese and fresh spinach; tomato, spinach and goats cheese, and; three cheeses.

There is an enticing list of dessert crepes.  Even the straightforward lemon and sugar crepe is scrumptious.  We shared one of these after the savouries.  Yum.

The space is small but the food is cooked swiftly, just like it is eaten, so the tables turn over quickly.
