With a similar spread to that of Tutto Bene, I was inspired to visit Della Nonna hoping to find quality Italian food and coffee.

Located in the heart of the QV building, Della Nonna QV caters to the business crowd, and shoppers in their breaks between fashion stores.

The coffee is reliably good, I find myself here often in the mornings after a sleep deprived night.  Arrive at 11am and you will find an assemblage of bankers, managers and their staff drinking coffee over casual job interviews and one-on-one business discussions.

Lunch time offers the $10 bar menu with a selection of dishes.  There is usually one vegetarian option.  Yesterday I ordered the reggiano and basalmic risotto.  The dish was beautifully presented with swirls of vinegar in the right quantity to balance the strong flavours of the cheese and basalmic.  The texture was soft and creamy, having been cooked well and fresh.  It was delicious, although unhealthy with no greens or vegetables.

Other vegetarian options include a selection of pastas (semolina gnocchi with tomato sugo; pumpkin ravioli with mustard fruit and gorgonzola; and spinach and ricotta agnolotti) and pizzas (aglio with chilli and buffalo mozzerela; margherita; zuca with pumpkin, bocconcini and tallegio; and mushrooms with truffle oil).

There is a range of mouth-watering Italian desserts too.

This is the sister restaurant to that of the same name in Hawthorn.
