Of all the fantastic brunch spots in Melbourne, Greens is my favourite. This café has so much mouth-watering food, you’ll be hard pressed to choose. The vanilla slice with passion fruit icing is memorable. The Persian Love cake is intriguing with a granular texture and nutmeg. The cheese and spinach filos with tomato chutney can be gobbled up quickly. The salads look great. The coffee is impressive.

My favourite breakfast dish is the vegetarian breakfast stack. It includes a tower with potato rostie, wilted spinach, grilled tomato, slabs of haloumi, a poached egg on top, and a moat of baked beans and chutney. Even better the prices are cheap. The breakfast stack will cost you $10.

With a casual atmosphere, social shared tables and friendly staff, the only thing stopping me from eating here every weekend is the 40 minute drive across the city.
