Before an energetic samba class at Melbourne Salsa last Wednesday, my friend and I stopped for dinner just around the corner. This was my second time at Lezzet.

Arriving at 6:30pm on a Wednesday night, there were no available tables inside but we were able to get a spot under the heaters on the footpath.

We ordered the stuffed mushrooms to share, and then I chose the vegetarian guvech for main.  The mushrooms were delicious, even better than their description on the menu.  Stuffed with whipped fetta and walnuts, they tasted fantastic.  They were also beautifully presented with shredded pastry, thyme and salca.

The guvesh was equally delicious.  With a tomato base and hearty vegetables, this would be a treat in Winter (or in Melbourne’s current Summer where everyone is still dressed in coats).  The dish was quite heavy and rich so I found myself ordering some bread to go with it.

The meals were filling enough to satisfy but light enough to dance afterwards.

Other vegetarian options on the menu include two variations of pizzas and a selection of entrees.  I had the vegetarian pizza last time and it was very tasty.

The service was good and the atmosphere was lively.  Overall, it was an enjoyable meal and I would be happy to return to Lezzet soon.
