On a cold Spring day we headed to Hawthorn for brunch. I grabbed a table outside despite the drizzle, thinking the outdoor umbrella would be enough to keep us dry. Even on a day like today Liar Liar was packed with locals.
My ex-vegetarian friend and I both ordered ‘Refresher’ juices. A delicious and as the name suggests ‘refreshing’ blend of watermelon, apple, mint and strawberries. We then also order the Veggie Mezze - toast with wilted spinach, fennel and tomato salsa and a giant slab of haloumi. Yum! I do not usually like fennel but the salsa was original and enjoyable. I enjoyed this dish as something different for brunch.
